USDAA - United States Dog Agility Association
Overview: USDAA is one of the oldest agility organizations and remains physically
the most challenging, with the A-frame set at 6'3" for all but
the smallest dogs, higher jumps for big dogs, lower jump-height cutoffs,
and smaller contact zones on the dogwalk and seesaw. The courses are
typically not quite as tight as those in AKC, but the course times are
faster.
Dogs Eligible: Any dog 18 months or older.
Classes offered: Standard (all obstacles), Pairs (two teams each run half the course),
Jumpers (jumps and tunnels only), Gamblers (game of strategy and distance handling),
Snooker (game of strategy and control).
Jump Heights: 12", 16", 22", 26"
Levels: Starters/Novice (people who have not previously titled a dog in USDAA begin in Starters, others
begin in Novice), Advanced and Masters. The Performance division (see below) has equivilant levels P1, P2 and P3.
Divisions: Championship (standard) and Performance.
In performance dogs jump the next height lower than their standard height,
the a-frame is set at 5'6" for all heights, there are no spread
jumps, and there is additional course time.
Titles: Starters/Novice - AD;Advanced - AAD; Masters - JM,SM,RM,GM,MAD
Preferred - P1,P2,P3,PJ,PS,PG,APD
Championship: ADCH - 5 legs each in all Masters level games classes, 7 legs in Masters
standard titling class.
